in the future artworks will come with a smart certificate of authenticity in the form of a NFC sticker that can be scanned to validate the provenance of the artwork

the artworks metadata and ownership will safely be held in a distributed ledger (blockchain), guaranteeing a single living source of provenance over the lifespan of the artwork
